You know many people want to spend their holidays relaxing with a cigarette. Bottle of beer and the sunshine. Thats the norm here which leaves the museums and galleries empty and quiet.
The War Photo gallery was started by a guy who came to Yugoslavia to photograph the war and stayed to open this gallery filled with photos from current conflicts all over the world. His photos and explanations about the war here finally made sense of that war which, to me, kept morphing. It started in Croatia and moved to Bosnia and then Albania. It was essentially the same conflict with the Serbs Croats, Albanians and their accompanying Catholic, Muslim, and Orthodox beliefs. The pictures of this war +Yemen +Sierra Leone + Afghanistan+Syria and even more added a surreal dimension to the inside world of the gallery and the outside world of sun-soaked holiday makers. It gives one pause to appreciate the difference a moment and a place can make
