Russian greeting

usually Russians are aggressive and surly (except for our friend Leonid) and I was accosted by a man coming from the morning breakfast. I was a bit reticent just in case he was on the offensive. Instead here is our dialog

He: good morning Miss, from where do you come?

Me: Mexico but I am actually American

He: Oh that’s good. Did you come here for joy?

Me: (pause) well, yes I did and thanks for asking. I think I found it here. and you?

He: Me too. Have a lovely day

And, of course we both did.
